Barbell club update! We are beginning our new 12 week cycle of barbell club this coming week. We are changing things up a little bit. We will be starting our Monday and Wednesday classes at 6:30 pm for this cycle. We have seen outstanding results in the last two cycles. To continue to challenge these athletes, we have also made changes to the programing and coaching Rotations. Coach Stew Peters will coach clean and jerk on Monday nights, Coach John Jarman will coach the snatch and ohs on Wednesday nights and coach John Nealey will coach the dead lift, bench press and squat on Saturday mornings. I always love the wise, and sometimes controversial, musings from @sherwood215 I think this statement hits home that we may sometimes find ourselves adding an excessive volume of dynamic loading to a structure that does not yet have the capacity to manage it, like the shoulder and Kipping pull-ups/ muscle-ups. I will actually be talking about this more in tomorrow's blog post. Stay tuned. #Repost @sherwood215 with @repostapp.・・・It makes perfect sense to look up to the greats in our sport, observe how they are training and think we should mimic it. For serious competitors that might make sense. For the rest of us, I think it should be avoided. But who knows. Maybe I'm wrong. Only time will tell.

This guy came to us from his home garage last year! Brian B is a natural athlete who excels at body weight movements like bar muscle ups and chest to bar pull ups! He is the extremely proud father of two kiddos and one furry one! He's a rad and hard working guy and we wish him the happiest of "New Years"
Happy Birthday to Seth J! This guy joined us at the hangar but has become an MBS II regular! He's an adventure junkie (as is his wife)---his resume includes rocks, snow, water, financial number crunching, and parenting. In addition to being a natural athlete he's also a natural coach, often helping our newest athletes learn the ropes. We hope he has had a great day!
